Awana

"AWANA” is an acrostic taken from II Timothy 2:15: “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed”. Truly, those who claim the name of Christ and work at hiding His Word in their hearts should not be ashamed to be called His workmen nor to work for His approval. It is our desire to keep our AWANA program running in a first-class manner this year.

TIME SCHEDULE – Our AWANA program meets on Wednesday nights from 7:00 until 8:10 p.m. Please try to have your children here faithfully on time. It is very disruptive to the program when children come in late.

DUES – Dues are fifty cents ($.50) per week. This helps to offset the church’s expense in providing awards and different supplies needed. It becomes very awkward for all involved when some children have their dues and some don’t. Please try to help your child to be faithful in bringing his/her dues. You may prepay the dues in cash or by check payable to Temple Baptist Church. The dues for the year are $17.00. We will keep a record of the weeks prepaid.

UNIFORMS – All clubbers should wear uniforms. Exact prices are listed on the back of this sheet.

HANDBOOKS – Handbooks are the heart and soul of the AWANA program. Your child cannot progress without his/her handbook. Please see that he/she keeps his handbook in good condition and readily available where he/she can find it and can get to AWANA with it regularly. Much time is lost during club time because of lost, misplaced, or forgotten handbooks. New handbooks will be available at a cost of $7.00 each.
AWANA is a club. Children should come only if they wish to participate in the entire program. Please do not think of AWANA in the same context as a Sunday School class which is open to one and all, but think of it for what it is—a club requiring cooperation and full participation from those who choose to be a part of it. Faithful attendance and a conscientious effort to progress through the handbook are necessary for each child.
